The lion tamer has been dunked
Hello family and friends, how is everything going
Yes, the Lion tamer has been dunked hahaha
Man it has been a long but great journey with him. We met him just
clapping houses with Elder Edwards the 11th of November, and
everything was going good. Then Elder Allphin came and we just kept
teaching him. He always said that he had to many responsibilities, and
was to old to get baptized (he is 64). But with the Lords help, he
finally realized the importance of baptism, and ya it happened.รง
It was a crazy week with him though. He had everything, he just said
that he needed to decide, that is what he was missing. But we talked
alot about him at District meeting and came up with a plan. We did
divisions this day, and Elder Clark from Las Vegas came with me to my
area. We just went in to his house and with as much confidence as we
had, and through the spirit we spiritually dropped the cane on him,
and it worked, he decided he was ready!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really am strengthening my testimony everyday on the power of
prayer, and power of faith. More than three times these last three
weeks we have gone to the lion tamers house (his name is Luis Jara
Rios), but we went there and he wasnt there. But we needed to talk to
him, so we went to another appointment, and when we came back, with
all the faith that we had, we asked God for a miracle in a prayer, and
then, he was always there.
The biggest miracle that we saw, was whenhe had a big soccer
tournament last weekend, and he was on a contract (yes for being 64 he
is in incredible shape), but he said that he couldnt miss this
tournament, but when we put our confidence in the lord, and prayed
with all our hearts without ceasing, the lord blessed us with a
miracle. Luis found a replacement and was able to stay here and get
baptized and confirmed
It was an amazing journey with him, and probably one of the most
spiritual baptism services ever. He really wanted both of us to
baptize and confirm him, but it doesnt work like that, so my companion
got his chance to baptize his first adult, he was super excited about
that. I was able to confirm him.
Well, i love the mission, i am growing to love it more and more
everyday, i just wish it would slow down a little. They arent kidding
when they say your second year flies by even faster than the first.
PLEASE SLOW DOWN.
I love you guys and thank you for your support.

Over the Hill!
Wow, great week in Paraguay, like usual, just super crazy. The weather has been kind of bi-polar with alot of rain, and alot of heat. Wow, i love Paraguay. I think I am finally getting over this 3 week sickness. Ughhhh........... I hate being sick and not being able to work. I still have a nasty cough, but I am pretty much back to normal. This last friday, was the first day that I have been able to work 100% again after being sick for a while. Ya so i am better. But i did lose quite a bit of weight. I entered the MTC at 197, I left the MTC at 203. I started gaining weight when I got here a little by little, and by the time I got to Presidente Franco, I was at 218. But then summer and tons of sickness came, and a couple months ago, i was down to 207 here in Ybate. But then after this last sickness, with not eating anything, I am now at 195...... The smallest I have been in all my mission. Even to this day, i am a little screwed up. I cant eat that much. Just little, so ya Paraguay is finally getting to me, but what can you do, i still love it.
It was a hard week as far as work goes, because of weather, sickness, and a little discouraged about things. But me and my companion have got some great plans to make this week the best week in our mission. Last night he stood on a chair, and I stood on his bunkbed, and we just went off on a wild rant of things we are going to do better this week. We just kind of had a pep assembly, and got us pumped up. We are excited for this week, and for working our tails off.
The 18th was a little hard with the annaversary of the passing of Grandpa Durfee, but also it was a great day to just testify all day long of the plan of salvation, and how I know I will be with him again. The night was spent of reading his Obituary and condolensances, and just remembering good old grandpa.
The 19th passed fast wwithout any celebrations or anything. But it is finally hitting me today that my mission is half way over :(. And a year from today, is mylast day before I end my mission. I hate that thought. As much as I wanted to come home in the past, now I am looking at it, and I am not ready to come home. I have way too much work to do. I still have to figure alot of things out about my life. I still dont knwo who I am , or who I want to be. I need to rededicate myself and make this the best year of my life. And I will do it.
We need to start finding again. I kind of lost the desire, the fire, but I got it back now. I am ready to be the best missionary in the world now. YAY
This week we are planning on the baptism of Luis Jara. We have been teaching him for 2 or 3 months now. But he has grown to be a very very great friend. I have talked about him as the Lion Tamer q}with a sweet mustache. We still have to fight a little with him, but he will get baptized this week. He is going to take us fishing this next week for P day. It will be sweeeeeet.
This last Pday, we went and played golf. It was pretty legit. It wasnt fun being sick though. I just golfed the first few holes abd then just walkde the rest. But it was still sweet. I think we are going to play tennius today. On some sweet clay courts. Hey, your only in paraguay once, you got to enjoy it.
Well, family I love you guys, I love my Heavenly Father more than anything, and I love this work. Just know that I am fine, and that I am working my tail off. No need to worry aboiut me.
Love ya

One year Already?!
Well it's official... Elder Chase Coy Stewart has been out 1 whole year this Thursday, January 19th 2012.
WOW, big week last week, and a big week this next week CRAZY.
So just to give you a little low down of evrything that happened. we will
start with last monday
MONDAY 9th- Pday today. We were going to play golf this day, but other
elders talked us out of it so we can play this next week(today). So instead
we played a little basketball, and then we were going to go play tennis,
andthey told me it opened at 3, but we ran there and they dont open until 5
or 6 every night, so we cant play o well. Then we just had some great
family home evenings that night
TUESDAY 10th- Well we were going to district meeting on a bus, an we missed
a call from a member lady in the ward, ususally she calls us with news, or
stuff like that. But we didnt think much of that. Then the zone leaders get
on the bus, and tell us the news that our ward mission leader Obispo
Gonzalez had died. That sucked to hear. But after a few phone calls,
we found out it wasnt Obispo Gonzalez that died, it was actually an
OLD member. But it was still sad because it was Brother Gonzalez, and
me and my comp were the only people that visisted them, and we did
every week. They were just like my grandparents here in Paraguay. He
helped me out alot, he will be missed. I just feel bad for his wife...

O what a week
Well, I am officially very tired, but what can you do right. The mission drains you physically, but fills you mentally!!!! I love it
Long but good week today, i might as well just explain everything that happened right. I will just start with today.
Today (pday) we woke up and got ready at 5 o clock. Then at 545 we left the house to go meet with other elders at a grocery store. My companion went with elder lund and clark, and I went with the zone leaders and the other district leader from our zone. We went to office, and had capacitacion for leaders until 2, and finally got back with my comp at 330. Man i was pretty tired from sitting all day, but we went and did groceried, and now are emailing. It has been the shortesxt and craziest pday of my mission. But also it was the best meeting I have ever been to. We learned so much, and I am so excited to better myself as a missionary and a district leader.
Yesterday we had the confirmations of Guadalupe and Sabrina!!!!
Saturday we had alot of lessons, and dinner with some members to celebrate New years eve, and then we were woken up at 12 with fireworks going off everywhere
friday we had the baptisms of guadalupe and sabrina. We were planning to have them start at 7 o clock. we get there at 615, and go and turn on the font to fill it up the rest of the way. (/it was already half way full). Then we start playing a little piano. Then at 645 or so, sabrina and her dad show up. We then go and check the font and there is no water coming out of the tap. We check the rest of the church and there is no water at the church whatsoever. Finally everyone shows uyp at 7 or so, and we have to start bucketing in water. But then the pastore dad starts saying that we need to do the baptism of his daughter now, because he has to go to the hospital (dyalisis). So to make the story short, we had to do 2 baptism, first guadalupe, which my comp got his 1st baptism yayyyy. But while we were doing her service, there was men bringing in buckets of water. And then finally her service was done, and we started the next one because there was finally enough water to baptize the older bigger girl. It was a stressful day, but we did it. satan tried as hard as he could to stop the work, but it didnt happen, we won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tuesday, I had a great birthday with district meeting, then a great lunch with hermana betty. Then we worked our tails off, and finished with cake and soda with Familia franco
Last monday, i had the best pday of my life with talking to my family, and having a district activity, and climbing cerro lambare
Great, and busy week, but we are ready to make this next week even better
I love this work, and I love all of you guys
Love Elder Chase Coy Stewart
